Apologetics Segment on Issues, Etc.

On Friday, September 26, 2008, one of the segments of the “Issues, Etc.” radio program was devoted to the topic, “Testing the Truth Claims of World Religions.”  The guest for the segment was Craig Parton, author of The Defense Never Rests: A Lawyer’s Quest for the Gospel (a book I’ve frequently recommended to others as an apologetics resource) and the new Religion on Trial.

People so often miss the point that the essence of the Christian faith is built on certain historical facts occurring (the death and resurrection of a man named Jesus Christ), while all other world religions find their essence in principles to follow, not facts that have occurred.  That means that Christianity is the only religion that the sincere seeker can actually “check out” to see if its claims are factually true or false.  The Parton segment helps people to see this important distinction and how it can contribute toward your personal evangelism.

Here’s a direct link to the Parton segment. You can also find it at their on-demand listening page at

  1. I just found your BLOG thanks to Pastor Gumm’s recommendation. I am also a WELS Blogger and interestingly enough; we started our BLOGs on the same day (6/24/2008) which also happens to be my birthday! I look forward to growing in faith through your posts.
